Jerkinhead roof
Jerkinhead roof is a US English term, also known as a clipped gable or half-hipped roof, as it combines elements of both a gable roof and a hip roof. It bears close resemblance to a Dutch gable roof with a the unique shape clipped at the edges but has angled gable ends, so is generally lower. Jerkinhead roofs were during various architectural periods, including Colonial Revival and the arts and crafts movement, as well as modern buildings
